Disney Cruise Deal Tips

by Robbie Claus

1. First and Foremost-Always deal with a professional Cruise Specialist who has access to the latest and greatest Disney Cruise Deals. While this may be logical to most, people like to shop around and ask their friend’s who have been on a cruise. Sometimes that kind of advice can end up costing you more.

2. Location does matter. For those who may have a problem with seasickness, you will want to be as midship as you can get to feel less movement than other parts of the ship. And the size of your cabin will also play a big part in how much your cruise vacation costs you. Inside cabins with no windows will always be the least expensive alternative. But if you like knowing if it is day or night outside, then you would want at least an ocean view cabin. Sometimes you will find it best to pay for a balcony cabin for your best comfort. These will be at a higher cost in money but if that’s what makes you happy and you can still remain within your budget than you should go for it.

3. There are some magical rates that are usually available when it is least popular to cruise. The real key to getting a deal for your Disney cruise is flexibility. You may want to think about taking your kids out of school in order to get the best deals. The best time of year to travel for better deals on Disney is in January, early February, May, late in August through October and parts of November and December (non holiday weeks). Think about booking your cruise early-at least 3 to 6 months in order to get your best deal on a Disney cruise.

4. Shipboard credits-this can give you money to spend anywhere on the ship and is definitely a good value perk. There is currently a special on 3 to 4 night sailings on the Disney Wonder that offers a $50 per cabin ship board credit. These are subject to availability and must be booked within a given time frame. So take advantage of shipboard credits when they are available.

5. Discounts such as resident and or military are available for select sail dates. A good cruise speciailist should be able to let you know when these are available for you to take advantage of.

6. For those of you who are considering a Land and Sea Package- This means that you will spend part of your time on the Disney Cruise and the other part at Disney World. Sometimes it ends up costing less to book these as two separate vacations. Have your Cruise Specialist figure out the cost both ways to see which would work out to be the better deal. Most times it is actually less expensive to book these separately.

7. An insiders tip for a family of 5. You can either book into an expensive Category 4 cabin which is a Deluxe Family Stateroom or more economically, you could book two seperate connecting Category 9 (ocean view) or Category 10 (Inside) and have two full bathrooms instead of 1 as well as more privacy.
