How to Plan Fantastic Weddings Abroad

Weddings abroad are the perfect way to combine the most special day of your life with the ultimate honeymoon.

Do you want your wedding to be a small, intimate event attended just by you, your intended, and the vicar’s wife as a witness? Or, do you want a destination event for all your family and friends? Either way, you can make it a wonderful event that will be a memory to cherish forever.

But the first question you need to ask when you plan your distant wedding ceremony is, where will it be? Fortunately, there are hundreds of places for you to choose from!

You might try a beach wedding in Bermuda, Barbados, St. Lucia, or the Cayman Islands. Maybe you would rather bask in the Mediterranean glory of France, Greece, Spain, or Italy.

Perhaps if you and your beloved have a common ancestry, you could plan to have your wedding in the land of your forefathers. You can make it complete with the traditional garb and even a reception catered with all the native dishes.

You can be sure that weddings abroad will be equally wonderful in places such as Australia or New Zealand, South America (Brazil, another good choice for the beach wedding), Eastern Europe (Croatia or the Czech Republic), or Africa (South Africa safari).

Now, once you know where you’re going to have the dream wedding, you need to figure out whether you want this to be a simple or elaborating event. There are many wedding planners who specialize in destination weddings, and companies who focus on weddings in all the places I mentioned above. Their help will be invaluable, since they can help you learn more about your chosen destination and help you find vendors for food and flowers. But remember, you also need to be aware that many destinations will require passports, visas, and vaccines for everyone.

Don’t forget to plan your escape for a private honeymoon if you intend on inviting all your friends and relatives!
