Planning Your Trip To Las Vegas – How to Get from Point A to B

by Chris Linch

Before you go to Las Vegas you should know what you need to do when you arrive. The Las Vegas Airport is very busy. There are several airlines there. I would prearrange for a pickup, only take a carry on if possible, save on a cab, and if you want to rent a car save on that also.

First of all when you book your flight you should book a pickup at the airport. It needs to be known that the hotels do not offer shuttle service. For no more than $20 per person you can arrange for a round trip shuttle to your hotel from the airport. This is probably the best bet. You can take a bus or a cab, but you are going to probably pay higher prices.

Everyone I talk to plans on checking bags, I strongly suggest you rethink that if at all possible. It is much better to carry on your luggage when you fly. It can take forever at baggage claim just to get your bags. Plus now days you pay a fortune to the airline when you check bags. You will save time and money by carrying on your luggage.

If you do take a cab, I would ask the driver not to take the tunnel. This is a choice you have between time and money. Taking the tunnel will be more expensive but will take less time. You have to decide which is more important.

If you really want the trouble of having a car while you are in Las Vegas then I would say go with Fox Rent-a-Cars. They are not in the airport, you have to be shuttled to their building. They do save you a lot of money, though, over the airport locations. I have never rented a car there though, I think my feet and public transportation is the way to go. Then you don’t worry about parking and all that, and you usually aren’t stuck in traffic.

If you go to Las Vegas put together a plan of how to get to your hotel. This planning will save you time and money. I always say pay for a shuttle and carry on luggage, that is what I do everytime. This saves you the time and money to do what you want to do while there, because the trip is never long enough.
